Frequently Asked Questions

Subscription & Billing

Can I use VIP on multiple devices?
Yes! Your VIP purchase is tied to your App Store Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play account (Android). You can use it on any device signed in with the same store account.
See: In-App Billing Info
Can I transfer my subscription from iOS to Android?
No. Purchases on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play) are not transferable between platforms. You would need to purchase a separate subscription if you switch platforms.
See: In-App Billing Info
Can I gift a subscription to someone?
Currently, gifting is not directly supported. However:
  • iOS: You may be able to gift through the App Store (check Apple's gift subscription options)
  • Android: Google Play may support gifting in some regions
See: In-App Billing Info
Do subscriptions auto-renew forever?
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Once you cancel, they stop renewing after the current period ends.
See: In-App Billing Info | Terms of Service
Can I pause my subscription?
Pausing is not currently supported. You can cancel and resubscribe later, but you'll need to pay for a new subscription period when you return.
See: In-App Billing Info

Privacy & Data

What personal information does Briefly collect?
We collect:
  • Account information (authentication data, profile info)
  • Content preferences (topic selections)
  • Device information and usage data

No. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
How do I delete my account?

If you can't access the in-app option, contact us at Briefly.Feedback@gmail.com and we'll help.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days.

Note: Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple or Google:

  • iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
How do I clear my chat history?
We do not currently provide an in-app "clear chat" feature. You may remove locally stored chat data by clearing the App's data/cache via your device's system settings.

Account & Sign-In

What happens if I sign in with a different method?
If you sign in using a different authentication method (e.g., switching from Google to Apple Sign-In) and it results in a different Briefly account, your prior account data and VIP access may not appear automatically.

A purchase can be active on only one Briefly account at a time. You can use Restore to re-verify access using the same App Store Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) originally used for the purchase. If the purchase is already active on another Briefly account, you may need to remove the existing association (for example, by deleting the account currently using the purchase) before restoring.

What happens to my data if I use the app as a guest and then sign in?
If you use the App as a guest, your preferences and activity may be stored under a temporary guest profile. When you sign in, we may merge your guest profile (including topics and other in-app data) into the signed-in Briefly account.
Can I purchase a subscription as a guest?
No. To purchase a VIP subscription, you must be signed in to a Briefly account. Purchases are not available in Guest mode.
